Logan County Coroner Don Peasley Seeks Second Term

February 5, 2024

Lincoln, IL – Logan County Coroner, Don Peasley, is seeking reelection for the term beginning December 2024.

Don’s first term began in 2020. Each year he has exceeded the required 24 hours of education with the Illinois Coroner & Medical Examiners Association (ICMEA). He has diligently worked with local and state law enforcement agencies, and our court systems, to complete thorough death investigations.

“I have been honored to lead the coroner’s office these last 3 years, and I would appreciate the community’s support in continuing that role,” shared Don. “Serving grieving families with care, dignity, and respect during a difficult time has been my life’s work. Every election is important, from primary to general, and I am asking for your support, first in the republican primary and then in November.”

Don has spent much of his adult life serving and working with first responders and emergency personnel. In his twenties, Don became a licensed volunteer Emergency Medical Technician, serving in this capacity for over 22 years with the Atlanta Rescue Squad. And since 2014, Don has brought his own experiences to the Logan County Paramedic Board. Don is also a member of several volunteer civic, fraternal, and professional organizations. He holds an Associate in Applied Science degree from Mid-America College of Funeral Service and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Illinois for nearly 30 years. He owns and operates Peasley Funeral Homes in Lincoln (since 2002) and Atlanta (since 2006).

"Serving people during a difficult time has been my life's work, and I would appreciate the community's support when considering their next leader of the Logan County Coroner's office."
Service is a way of life for Don Peasley. Don has spent much of his adult life serving and working with first responders and emergency personnel.
